Key responsibilities
Role Purpose:
You will work on day-to-day paid search activities such as setting up promotions, running tests and sharing performance with stakeholders.
Role Objectives:
- Working with the other Paid Search Specialist and agency to deliver paid search activity across a range of campaign types including search, Performance Max (local inventory ads).
- Build strong relationships with Online Trading Managers and Category Teams, understanding their priorities and clearly communicating the paid search support we are providing them with.
- Run analysis and reporting on performance and share with key category stakeholders, trading managers and marketing leads.
- Analyse paid search performance and share insights such as on the impact of pricing on paid search performance.
- Manage paid search support for trading activity and promotions, as well as new range launches, including being adaptable to changing trade plans.
- Work on our Testing Roadmap, supporting the Paid Search Manager to ensure all activity falls in line with the larger performance media strategy.
- Plan and execute store visit driving campaigns for new store launches.
- Conduct competitor research such as SimilarWeb and Google’s data.
- Work with Group Tagging teams to troubleshoot tagging issues and request new tracking when required.
- Work with the Go To Market team on seasonal responses and PIRs, as well as data insights.
- Continually audit and optimise performance across the account including Performance Max assets, ad copy, extensions, landing pages, targeting, audiences etc, to increase day to day efficiency and growth.
- Manage vendor funding activity for your categories (working with Retail Media), including campaign budgeting and reporting to Finance.
- Own monthly POs and invoicing.
- Uphold a strong understanding of paid search best practice and latest developments through self driven industry reading and learning, as well as through relationship building with Google and our agency.
Required skills & experience
Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex and technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to build strong relationships across the business and with external suppliers and leverage these to meet business demands.
- Demonstrate that you are a collaborative proactive team player.
- Self-motivated, agile and curious.
- Has a passion for the latest digital media trends and best practices.
- Solid understanding of key paid search functionalities such as bidding strategies.
- Has ecommerce paid search experience
- Google ads certifications desirable.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to interpret and work towards achieving Return On Ad Spend (ROAS) and revenue targets
- Ability to analyse performance of PPC campaigns and make recommendations for their optimisation.
- Needs to be able to grasp the wider strategic vision to optimise delivery of their part of the overall plan.

- Performance issues are quickly identified, understood and resolved, with the impact communicated clearly to the relevant stakeholders.
- Untapped opportunities are identified and communicated to the wider team and relevant stakeholders.
- Promotions, range changes, and trading events are supported.
